Construction in Golders Green – continued
Halat Building Contractors is currently working on the final phase of one of our largest projects of the year, a large construction in Golders Green.
We have written about this project in a previous blog. The existing home was almost completely demolished and in its place, we constructed a large new home with a new basement extension. Work on the new basement and construction of the new walls lasted about 15 weeks.
As a result of our construction, the client has extended their home to 6 bedrooms – the previous property only had 3 bedrooms. Additionally, there are 6 bathrooms in relation to 2 bathrooms before, 2 kitchens in relation to 1 kitchen before, and 3 storage areas in relation to 2 in the previous property. The new home has been finished modern to a high standard.
We are currently working on the internal finishings including painting the inside and outside. We have used high-quality spray painting methods for painting, which allows us to obtain very high quality painted surfaces including walls, ceilings and intricate woodwork. This method involves covering and protecting windows before spray painting with a Wagner Airless Paint Sprayer. Surfaces finished with this method are very smooth and far exceed the quality of traditional painting methods.
At this point, we are also installing the latest LED bulbs, which provide a very spectacular and low-cost lighting.
All six bathrooms were fully covered with high-quality porcelain tiles sourced from Italy. HBC’s bathroom installers have fitted the bathroom to a very high standard, taking great care and pride in even the smallest details, such as silicone fitting in each corner.
The entire ground floor of the building was also covered with porcelain tiles ( about 130 square meters of tiles in total). Before installation HBC’s carpenters crafted a very strong structural floor, which was subsequently covered with two layers of 18mm floorboards. In addition, reinforcement mesh was installed prior to mounting to help prevent the new floor from cracking.
In the new basement, we installed wooden floors specially produced for use in basements. We also installed high-level alarms for pumps, WC waste and underground water. These alarms will inform the homeowners about possible faults in the pump system. However, failures are unlikely to happen as we have used the best systems from German manufacturer Delta with 30 years warranty.
As with all our work, we are immensely proud of the project. Not only because the final home is impressive, modern and constructed to a very high standard. But because our clients can now enjoy a functional, spacious and modern home.
